Lakeview Hospice Care accepts insurance policies that include Medi-Cal and Medicare, and private and managed care insurances.
Medicare/Medical
Medicare and Medi-Cal programs offer coverage for Hospice services. Since Lakeview accepts Medicare and
Medi-Cal as 100 percent coverage, there are no out-of-pocket expenses to patients or their loved ones for Hospice Care. For care unrelated to a patient’s primary diagnosis, Medicare and Medi-Cal continue to provide their normal benefits.
Private Insurance
Since each insurance company has its own policies, Lakeview can contact the patient’s insurer to ask about the coverage provided for hospice care in the greater Los Angeles Area.
The Lakeview Care Team consists of professional and highly trained individuals whose expertise provide for the well being of our patients and their families. These individuals work together with the patient and immediate family members, to develop a plan of care that is appropriate for the patient. Among these team members are:
Physicians: Collaborate with the patient’s primary physician and are available for pain and symptom management consultation.
Health Aides: Help with personal care, such as bathing and walking; they also can help with light cleaning, light laundry and occasional shopping.
Nurses: Provide hands-on care and are experience in assessing and managing pain.
Social Workers: Friendly and skilled listeners who offer emotional support, and help with financial issues and planning.
Volunteers: Specially trained in hospice, are important members of the team who are available when they are needed most.
Counselors and Clergy: Offer spiritual support to the patients and their families.
